- כִּילּוּיm. (כָּלָה) 1) finishing. Sifra Kdosh. ch. I; Y.Peah IV, 18b בשעת הכ׳ at the time when the end of the field is cut (with ref. to תכלה, Lev. 19:9); a. e. 2) extinction, destruction. Lev. R. s. 7, beg. (ref. to שמד, Deut. 9:20) כ׳ בניםוכ׳ the extinction of his family; ib. s. 10. Mekh. Bo s. 8 מצות כִּילּוּייוֹ בכל דבר it (the leavened bread) may be destroyed in any manner, opp. מצות כ׳ בשדיפה it must be destroyed by fire.
